Free Tour: From the Kiosco Morisco to the Monument to the Revolution

A walking route that starts at the Kiosco Morisco - a cast-iron pavilion that traveled from the 1884 World's Fair in New Orleans before becoming the heart of Santa María La Ribera - and crosses the old neighborhood of poets and painters (Amado Nervo, Dr. Atl, José Alfredo Jiménez) into Tabacalera, once a refuge for international revolutionaries, ending at the Monument to the Revolution: the unfinished Porfirian palace that became the mausoleum of its own enemies.

Route
- We start at the Kiosco Morisco: the traveling pavilion from New Orleans and the story of Santa María La Ribera
- We visit the UNAM Geology Museum and the reconstructed "mammoth"
- We take a breakfast break
- We walk through the streets of Amado Nervo, Dr. Atl and José Alfredo Jiménez toward a traditional pulque bar
- We enjoy the traditional pulque bar
- We cross into Tabacalera, once a refuge for revolutionaries
- We wrap up at the Monument to the Revolution
Departure points
- The meeting point is the Kiosco Morisco, in the Alameda of Santa María la Ribera (departure is at 12:00 pm; please arrive 15 minutes early).
- How to get there: by Metro, get off at San Cosme or Buenavista station (Line 2 or Line 1/B) and walk about 10 minutes to the Kiosco Morisco.
